Jim Gill of Grampian Police describes "Driving Ambition"

Driving Ambition is a multi-agency initiative aimed at sixth year school pupils who are about to embark on their driving careers. It is designed to last one day and it's aim is to highlight the potential problems which young and inexperienced drivers may encounter on the roads, and ultimately, to provide advice on safer driving techniques.

In addition to Grampian Police, it also utilises the services of several other agencies who have a vested interest in road safety. These include the Driving Standards Agency, Grampian Fire & Rescue Service, local driving instructors and local mechanics.

Marie McElhill, Aberdeenshire Council describes "Youth Justice - Tackling Antisocial Behaviour "

The Aberdeenshire Youth Justice Partnership strives to reduce youth crime and contribute to the creation of safer communities through the development and delivery of effective programmes to address youth offending and its causes.

The current context for Youth Justice in Scotland is influenced by both recent legislation and Scottish Executive policy initiatives. One addition to legislation pertaining to both adults and young people is the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2004.

The breakout session focussed primarily on voluntary measures within guidance i.e. the use of Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (A.B.C's) with both young people and adults to attempt to address their anti-social behaviour/s as well considering Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO's) and their use within Aberdeenshire.
