The Maritime and Coastguard Agency, a full time partner in the Aberdeenshire Safety Partnership Steering Group, in association with the Garioch and North Marr Community Safety Group and Westhill Pool Lifeguards and Management, provided Primary 7 children from Crombie, Westhill, Elrick and Skene schools; the opportunity to learn about water and Coastal safety. The children visited the pool during school time and were given a 10-15 minute talk, video and practical demo by the Coastguard followed by practical hands on safety lessons in the pool by the Lifeguards. Each session lasted for two hours. A total of 186 children attended over four days. Topics covered by the Coastguard were:
