Crash Live 2013 was a community partnership event that demonstrated how the emergency
services deal with serious road traffic collisions. It was held at Thainstone Mart, Inverurie
on 17th September.
The event included:
- Road safety presentations from:
- Neil Robertson from Police Scotland described likely causation factors in road traffic collisions.
- Paul Geddes from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service described his organisation's involvement in relation to road safety matters and their role in relation to serious
road traffic collisions.
- Mark Bloch from NHS Grampian also described his organisation's involvement in relation to road safety matters and their role in relation to serious
road traffic collisions.
- Real-time demonstration of the emergency services response to a serious road traffic collision.
- A question and answer session.
- Information Stalls.
Alex Carnie from Police Scotland, who organised the event said:
"The evening went very well with a healthy attendance from people
not only from Garioch but also a wider catchment area. It was an
opportunity for the public to not only receive these safety messages but
also speak to various organisations on the evening regarding the subject
of road safety and also see first hand how the emergency services
respond to serious road traffic collisions and what work is carried out
at same."
The event was attended by around 150 people.
