The new 'Drugs Placebo Kit' (pictured alongside) was recently presented to PC. Allan Constable, of Grampian Police Educational Unit, by Garioch & North Marr Community Safety Group. Allan is the Police Liaison Officer for primary and secondary schools in Inverurie, Kemnay and Westhill areas ofAberdeenshire. The safety group donated the new placebo kit when they heard that his original kit was in dire need of replacement owing to constant use in schools. His work in schools is to promote "Learning for Life" which approaches 6 main issues:
These issues are all closely linked to the 5 - 14 National Educational Guidelines, which form the cornerstone of Scottish education. Allan states: "Grampian Police in conjunction with other agencies and community groups such as the Garioch & North Marr Community Safety Group, realise that education is of vital importance in promoting all aspects of community safety. The replacement placebo kit is an extremely useful tool to have in promoting drug awareness education. I am extremely grateful to the safety group for their most generous donation". |
