The project started with a request for high visibility vests from the pre-school group in Gardenstown in early 2008. We then decided to offer a package of up to 24 children's vests and four adult vests to all eight primary schools in our area.

We also decided that, despite the extra cost, it would be worth having the CSG and school logos printed on the vests. After a couple of false starts, we found a supplier on the web who would print logos on small numbers of vests and sent them the CSG logo.

All eight primary schools have received their vests and many of them have been visited by the Committee to hand over the vests with a photo shoot.

Given the initial success with the primary schools we decided to offer vests to two newsagents in Banff for their paper-round young people. These are presently being ordered.

The next phase of the project, starting in the Financial Year 2009-10, will be to offer vests to all the pre-school groups and to newsagents in other towns and villages in the area.
