Community Safety Group funds coastal safety signs

Safety updates | Kincardine & Mearns page | CSG Home page

The Kincardine & Mearns Community Safety Group has funded coastal safety signs along cliff tops in the area in collaboration with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The signs warn of steep cliffs and advise visitors to stay on the marked paths and not to attempt to climb on the cliffs. The Coastguard emergency number is also shown in case of difficulty or danger.

Kevin Hutchens, Chairperson of the Kincardine & Mearns Community Safety Group, urged all members of the public to heed the basic message of the signs:
"Be safe and be happy, the coastline of the North East of Scotland is a beautiful place to be and deserves treating with respect, observing the safety warnings of the signs should help all to enjoy this beautiful environment".
